Zimbabwe: Calm returns to Harare after election chaos

Businesses have shut up shop in Harare on Thursday morning, ahead of the announcement of disputed presidential election results. Soldiers and police patrolled the city in order to maintain calm. Several people died in clashes between security forces and supporters of the opposition Movement For Democratic Change (MDC). Presidential candidate Nelson Chamisa claims that incumbent Emmerson... Еще Mnangagwa has rigged the poll in favour of the ruling Zanu-PF party. The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) has until Saturday to declare the winner. This is the country's first poll since former president Robert Mugabe was removed from power last year.
