Zimbabwe: «Business as usual» — city centre shoppers relief after tension in Harare

It was business as usual on the streets of Harare in Zimbabwe on Thursday, less than 48 hours after the military seized control and placed Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe under house arrest. Harare local, Lameck, stated, «We greatly appreciate the stance taken by the military to bring order in our country,» while a local street vendor, Mhofu, insisted that, «there is peace in the nation... Еще,» following the takeover. Mugabe's detention comes after Zimbabwe's military seized control of state TV, announcing it had taken temporary control of the country in order to «target criminals» allegedly operating around the Head of State.
