United Nations special envoy Martin Griffiths arrived in Sanaa on Monday in order to escort Houthi negotiators to Sweden for peace talks with the Saudi-backed Yemeni government.
Griffiths did not talk to the media upon arrival, rushing directly for talks with the Houhti officials.
According to the special envoy's office, the peace talks in Sweden are set to begin in the next few days.
Also... Еще on Monday a UN aircraft was due to evacuate 50 injured Houthi fighters to Oman for treatment, a move agreed by the UN and the Saudi-led coalition in an effort to build trust ahead of the planned talks in Sweden.
Fighting between Saudi-led coalition forces and Houthi fighters flared up again around Hodeidah in November despite the United Nations (UN) pushing for a resumption of peace talks.
The first UN-sponsored peace talks in Geneva in September failed after the Houthi delegation didn't show up for the consultations.
