Vietnam: Putin hails Russia-China cooperation ‘unchangeable’ policy

Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping held a meeting on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit in Da Nang, Friday. Both leaders touched upon a wide range of issues regarding trade, economy, nuclear cooperation, humanitarian ties and international relations. At the meeting the Russian leader highlighted that a “strategic... Еще comprehensive cooperation” with China was an unchangeable Russian foreign policy’s priority, saying that China is Russia`s “largest trade and economic partner.” At the end of the address, Putin stressed both countries’ intention to look for new areas of cooperation and to implement already launched projects. Xi Jinping reiterated that the countries have “truly confidential strategic partnership” and continued pointing to some outcomes of such cooperation, and hailed the successful results from the One Belt, One Road initiative, before adding «we can expect the trade turnover to achieve over 80 billion dollars.» It is the 5th time since the beginning of 2017 the leaders have held a meeting.
