Some thirty members of the National Guard were spotted outside the public prosecutor's office in Caracas on Saturday, reportedly preventing Venezuela's former chief prosecutor Luisa Ortega Diaz from entering the building. The assembly's statement on the suspension states the Ortega was removed due to «grave breaches of the law» and support for the opposition protests in which 100 people have died. The decision comes after Ortega said that she would investigate allegations of fraud in the elections, which were responsible for installing the new body. Ortega will be replaced by national ombudsman and government supporter Tarek William Saab.
