Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro hailed «the biggest vote the Bolivarian revolution has ever had in all 18 year electoral history» speaking to a celebrating crowd at the Plaza Bolivar in Caracas, Monday. Maduro struck a defiant note to those who expressed doubt over the results, especially “Emperor Donald Trump” saying “What the f**k does Trump say to us? We care what the sovereign people of... Еще Venezuela say, what you have already decided with the votes”. Allies of the Socialist Party won all 545 seats of Maduro’s new Constituent Assembly, which will have the power to draft a new constitution, and dissolve state institutions. The voting was marred by countrywide protests and clashes in which ten died. The president of the National Electoral Council Tibisay Lucena announced that over 8 million voted in the election, however the opposition have placed estimates at around a 2.5 million turn out and called for further protests Monday.
