Venezuelan opposition leader Juan Guaido called for new demonstrations on Thursday in Caracas, promising to return to the streets on Saturday at 10am «to achieve the definitive real victory of the people of Venezuela.» The national assembly president also demanded the immediate release of his deputy, Edgar Zambrano, who was arrested on Wednesday.
«If they wanted to take us out of the streets, we... Еще'll be there and on Saturday we will return to the streets at 10am in large numbers in all the states of Venezuela,» Guaido said, during a meeting with engineers. «In the next few days we will stay in the streets to achieve the definitive real victory of the people of Venezuela.»
He added, «It is obvious that the vice-president should be freed, as well as all other political prisoners in Venezuela.»
Venezuela has been in political crisis since January 23, when Guaido declared himself president in a move now recognized by over 50 countries including the United States the European Union.
