USA: White House praises NYC emergency response after failed bombing

White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders thanked New York City emergency services for their first responders for their reaction over the attempted terror attack in Manhattan, speaking from Washington DC on Monday. «Undercover Port Authority Police Department officer Jack Collins apprehended the terrorist along with several other officers. These brave first responders and the others who rushed... Еще the scene are heroes,» she said. «On behalf of the President and a grateful nation, we would like to thank them and commend them for their bravery.» NYPD Commissioner James O'Neill identified the suspect as 27 year old Akayed Ullah, who was found on the scene wearing an improvised low-tech explosive device. Ullah was placed in custody and taken to Bellevue Hospital with serious injuries. Three other people sustained minor injuries as a result of the explosion, said Fire Department Commissioner Daniel Nigro. Monday's explosion occurred through the passageway connecting the Times Square and Port Authority subway stations shortly before 7:30 am local time.
