SOT, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, White House Press Secretary (English): «Look, as I just said, we don't have any changes in the past statements that we made on that front, nothing new.» *MULTIPLE SHOTS AT SOURCE* White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said on Monday that the US was ready to «stop providing military equipment to certain groups» in Syria, during a press briefing at the... Еще White House, Washington, D.C. When asked about US President Donald Trump's statement on Friday that the US would stop arming Kurds in Syria, Sanders said that the US was presently in a position to stop arming certain groups, since the so-called Islamic State (IS; formerly ISIS/ISIL) was being defeated. To «wind down support for certain groups» had always been the US government's plan, Sanders added. Regarding the official US policy on Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, Sanders responded that there were «no changes in past statements we have made on that front, nothing new.» On the domestic front, Sanders said that «optimism is through the roof,» with Trump close to «delivering a big beautiful Christmas present to the American people in the form of massive tax relief.» Earlier today, during an event Trump hosted for World War 2 Native American code talkers, the US President mockingly called Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren «Pocahontas.» Journalists confronted Sanders on the President's racial slur, to which she replied that «I think what most people find offensive is Senator Warren lying about her heritage to advance her career.» She then elaborated, «It was not the President's intent.»
