Two people were killed and two were injured in a stabbing and shooting on Saturday evening at a high-rise apartment tower in Bellevue, just east of Seattle, Washington.
Emergency vehicles could be seen in the aftermath of the incident in the city centre, as filmed by a local woman.
«We have two deceased, one critically injured, one with non-life-threatening injuries, three males, one female,» said Steve Mylett, Bellevue Police Chief, at the scene.
Police and fire responded to reports of gun shots and a stabbing at 7:30 PM local time (03:00 GMT) and upon arrival found a dead man in the third-floor lobby of the building and another man critically injured, who eventually passed away after responding officers were unable to save his life.
“It appeared to be some sort of house-warming party or some sort of celebration going on when the violence started, there’s no ongoing threat to the public or to the Bellevue community,” Mylett added.
According to reports a man at the party became aggressive and attempted to stab several people in attendance. Another person at the event was carrying a firearm and shot him, but it remains unclear if the instigator fo the violence is among those killed or injured.
