USA: Trump signs directive to send Americans back to Moon

US President Donald Trump signed a policy directive at the White House in Washington DC on Monday, in a bid to send Americans back to the Moon and eventually to Mars. Prior to signing “Space Policy Directive 1,” Trump said it would “refocus America's space programme on human exploration and discovery.” «This is a giant step toward that inspiring future and toward reclaiming America's proud... Еще destiny in space and space has so much to do with so many other applications including a military application,» the US leader added. Speaking as chairman of the recently-revived National Space Council, Vice President Mike Pence called the re-establishment of US presence in the Moon “vital to achieve our strategic objectives.” In June, Trump signed an executive order re-establishing the National Space Council, which had been disbanded in 1993.
