US President Donald Trump's former personal attorney, Michael Cohen, was released into home confinement, Friday.
Cohen was seen leaving a car and entering Trump Park Avenue building in New York City.
A federal judge was quoted in media as saying that the government sending Cohen back to prison did it as «retaliation» for him intending to publish his book which is reportedly critical of Donald Trump.
The Bureau of Prisons, in turn, was quoted as saying, «any assertion that the decision to remand Michael Cohen to prison was a retaliatory action is patently false.»
In 2018 Cohen pleaded guilty to lying to Congress, financial fraud, and bribing two women who allegedly had affairs with Donald Trump. In late May he was released early from prison due to concerns about the spread of the coronavirus among inmates in the US.
