Yes, thank you very much.» Andrew Brunson: «I would like to say I sent in an absentee ballot from prison» US President Donald Trump met with recently freed pastor Andrew Brunson in the Oval Office on Saturday. Trump thanked Turkish President Recep... Еще Tayyip Erdogan for his assistance with the release, saying «I want to thank President Erdogan, we've been dealing and we actually until this we had a very good relationship.» He also went on to claim that Brunson's release was just the latest in a series of similar successes by his administration, commenting «we have I think at this moment gotten 19 different people out of various countries.» Brunson thanked Trump for his help in securing his release, and went down on his knees to lead the room in a prayer, asking God to protect Trump and «make him a great blessing for this country.» The evangelical pastor was arrested and imprisoned after the failed coup attempt in 2016, and was charged with providing support to terrorist groups. A Turkish court had sentence Brunson to three years in prison, but he was granted early release due to time already spent in detention.
