US President Donald Trump targeted the media as he spoke in a campaign-style rally in Phoenix, Arizona, on Wednesday, calling journalists «truly dishonest people» and defending his statement following a blood-tainted white supremacists’ rally in Charlottesville.
Addressing his supporters, Trump stated, «You have some very fair journalists, but for the most part, honestly these are really really... Еще dishonest people,» adding, «they are trying to take away our history and our heritage.»
The US President hinted that he intends to pardon former Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, convicted for contempt of court in a racial profiling case in 2011. Directing a question to his supporters, Trump asked, «So, was Sheriff Joe convicted of doing his job?» before he answered, «I will make a prediction; I think he is going to be just fine.»
This was Trump's first campaign-style rally since violence erupted in a white supremacists' rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, which left one person dead and scores injured.
