USA: Trump invents 'first F-52' aircraft sold to Norway

US President Donald Trump has been lampooned on Social Media for making the erroneous statement that the US has ‘delivered the first F-52s’ to Norway, during a joint press conference in Washington DC with Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg on Wednesday. «In November, we started delivering the first F-52s and F-35 fighter jets,” Trump said. The US president was referring to the evolving... Еще commercial ties between the two countries when he misspoke, dropping in the sale of a non-existent air craft model. What Trump presumably meant to say was that the US has sold Norway 52 of the F-35 aircraft models. Trump seemed to quickly recover his mistake, stating, “We have a total of 52 and they've delivered a number of them already, a little ahead of schedule.” The US president also took the opportunity to praise Norway for investing in the American business sector. «Norway also invested about one third of its sovereign wealth fund in American businesses, supporting hundreds of thousands of American jobs. They are very big investors in our stock market and therefore the Prime Minister thanked me very much», he said. As from next year, the Royal Norwegian Air Force will be receiving six aircraft per year from the US.
