USA: Trump favours China putting ‘maximum pressure’ on North Korea

White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said on Thursday that US President Donald Trump's administration supports China's decision to send a special envoy to Pyongyang amid tensions on Korean Peninsula. «The President certainly favours China taking a greater role in putting maximum pressure on North Korea,» said Sanders at the White House press briefing before adding, «Any effort in... Еще order to denuclearise the Peninsula there in North Korea, then China participating in that, the President certainly supports those efforts.» Commenting on USA-China relations, Sanders noted that the Trump administration will continue to «make sure that the Americans and American workers in particular are getting the best deal and the best pieces possible» revealing that the amount of deals secured during Trump's Asia trip reached over $250 billion. When asked whether Trump trusts Russian President Vladimir Putin, Sanders said that the US President «doesn't think that it's helpful for him to get into a back and forth argument» with Putin and that «there are places where we can work with Russia» naming Syria and North Korea as most prominent areas for cooperation. «That's been the president's focus and he's going to continue to look for ways that we can work with them that help America,» she concluded.
