Donald Trump is under fire after claiming some of his predecessors, like Barack Obama, did not contact the families of fallen troops. During an impromptu press conference, the US president was asked why he had not commented on the death of four American soldiers killed in Niger two weeks ago. He said: «the traditional way if you look at President Obama and other presidents, most of them didn't... Еще make calls.» When pressed by reporters about Obama not calling the families of fallen servicemen, the president backtracked “I don't know if he did. No, no. I was told he didn't often and a lot of presidents don't.” Earlier this month, the US Ambassador in Niger confirmed that four service members died supporting Nigerian security forces in a counter-terror operation in southwest Niger on October 4.
