US President Donald Trump clashed with French counterpart Emmanuel Macron over the future of the Iran nuclear deal, at a joint conference from Washington D.C. on Sunday. Despite Macron’s lobbying efforts, Trump maintains that the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) signed in 2015 was a “bad deal”. He was coy on whether he would impose sanctions on Iran by the May 12 deadline, only... Еще saying Macron had a “pretty good idea”. The French president admitted there was a gulf separating the world leaders, but assured reporters that the two had shared “frank discussions” on options for a future deal. Macron is on a three-day state visit to the US. It comes on the back of military intervention in Syria and renewed co-operation in the fight against Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL).
