USA: Trapped Mexican bakers work for two days straight to feed Hurricane Harvey victims

Four bakers trapped inside El Bolillo bakery by Hurricane Harvey for over two days worked non-stop to produce thousands of bread and other baked goods for the storm's victims. The staff were still hard at work as customers flocked to the bakery as they showed off their tasty wares in Houston on Friday. Due to the severe flooding on the surrounding streets it was impossible for the night shift... Еще bakers to leave, so instead they remained at work and used the four thousand pounds (1,814 kilogrammes) flour to bake from Saturday all they way until Monday afternoon. Daughter of owner of the Mexican bakery Megan McKillis explained that once her father managed to reach the bakers, «they had baked thousands of pieces of bread, just boxes and boxes of bolillos and conchas and empanadas everything they could make.» The police came and picked up the loaves to deliver to Hurricane Harvey victims. McKillis added that the workers continued to work for two more days without sleep, «they continued to make bread for as many people as they could and didn't see their families for four days.» The bakery opened once again on Tuesday and was overwhelmed with customers, showing their support for the business.
