Thousands of women took to the streets of Washington DC on Thursday to protest over US President Donald Trump's immigration policy and child separation. Protesters chanted and marched through the streets before entering a Senate office building. Once there, police began to arrest them, including actress Susan Sarandon. «We need to have children and their mothers reunited and we won't stand for... Еще this kind of thing happening again and continuing to happen and that our policy needs to be examined and it is not illegal when you are an asylum seeker,» Sarandon said. The immigration policy which entailed separating children from their parents as the parents awaited trial caused intense criticism both within the country and abroad. Trump eventually signed an executive order allowing children to remain with their parents as they wait for trial.
