«This is my home, this is not who we are,» attorney George Brauchler said at a press conference in Douglas County, Colorado, on Wednesday in the wake of a deadly shooting at a nearby school. Eight people were injured and one student was killed in the attack at STEM School in Highlands Ranch on Tuesday.
Douglas County Sheriff Tony Spurlock updated reporters on the state of the investigation... Еще, which has seen two students taken into custody. «We identified who the suspects were, they were taken into custody and at the time the individuals we believed were in custody were two males,» he said. «It wasn't until we got to this office that were were able to determine that one of the suspects was a female,» he added.
One of the suspects, identified in the media as 18-year-old student Devon Erickson, was due to make a short court appearance on Wednesday.
Attorney Brauchler raised concerns about how the shooting, which was carried out shortly after the anniversary of the state's Columbine High School massacre, would come to define Colorado.
«My concern is that as this thing gets reported outside the borders of this state, and across the country because of the things we've talked about, this becomes how people view us,» he warned.
«We're going to moun, we're going to weep, we're going to take care of those who are down and pick ourselves back up,» he said.
