Hundreds of Texas bar owners defied Governor Greg Abbott's mandate that ordered them to close down after a spike in coronavirus cases.
Fort Worth bar owner Chris Polone organised what was labelled a «Freedom Fest,» in which hundreds of bar owners opened their doors on Saturday.
Customers were seen enjoying a live music show at the Rail Club Live bar, while maintaining social distancing.
«My competitors are still open right now. The difference between them and I? Same business model but they sell more food than I do, it's a double standard,» he said, talking about restaurants being allowed to open.
The governor had allowed bars to reopen with restrictions, but ordered them to close again on June 26 after a new outbreak of COVID-19 cases.
