USA: Suspect in FL school shooting charged with 17 murders — police

Nikolas Cruz, the 19-year-old teenager who allegedly killed at least 17 people at a Florida high school on Wednesday, was charged with 17 counts of premeditated murder on Thursday, communicated Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel during a press conference in Maryland along with other Florida officials. “Law enforcement, FBI, ourselves will do everything we can do make sure that this person is... Еще convicted of all charges and that justice is served”, he affirmed. The Sheriff confirmed that he had received reports of copycat threats at other schools, to which he responded that “we will charge everyone accordingly for doing something so pathetic”. Both Governor of Florida Rick Scott, as well as Broward County Public Schools Superintendent Robert Runcie, highlighted the need to “make sure that individuals with mental illness do not touch a gun.” Officials were asked about Cruz’s intervention in social media, as, reportedly, in September he left a comment under a YouTube video that read “I‘m going to be a professional school shooter.” However, FBI Special Agent in Charge Robert Lasky said that they made investigations, but was “unwilling to say that it was the same person”. Some members of Stoneman Douglas High School Schoolboard Staff Member were also present during the event. When asked, they claimed that the US should “do something as a country because this doesn’t end”, speaking about gun control and US President Donald Trump’s silence, affirming that “we have to talk about it”. A 19-year-old teenager killed 17 people at a Florida high school on Wednesday. Police arrested him two hours later and identified him as Nikolas Cruz. He was a former student expelled for disciplinary reasons, who allegedly opened fire with an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle while wearing a gas mask.
