US Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell announced a deal has been reached between Senate and the White House to allocate nearly $2 trillion (€1,8 trillion) to ease the impact of the coronavirus crisis. McConnell was speaking in Washington DC on Wednesday.
«It's good news for the doctors and nurses in emergency rooms around the country who are waiting for more masks and more funding. It's good... Еще news for families all across America,» said McConnell.
He made the announcement around 1.30am local time after a day of negotiations with Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin.
«In effect, this is a wartime level of investment into our nation. The men and women of the greatest country on Earth are going to defeat this coronavirus and reclaim our future,» concluded McConnell
The Senate and House of Representatives will vote on the legislation before sending it to President Trump for signing.
