Mike Rounds, Presiding Officer: «Senate stands adjourned until 10 am tomorrow.» *MULTIPLE SHOTS AT SOURCE* The US government shutdown rolled into its third day on Monday, as... Еще Senate members failed to reach a deal on funding and to what extent young 'Dreamers' should be protected from deportation. After hours of debate, Republican and Democrat senators were unable to reach a compromise to end the shutdown that started on Friday. The deadline on deciding on a bill to reopen the government and to fund it has now been pushed back to Monday, with the meeting starting at 10:00 (15:00 GMT) and the vote being held at noon (17:00 GMT). The main point of contention lies over the differing opinions in how to protect undocumented migrants known as 'Dreamers'. Lawmakers continue to dispute over the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) programme. Democrats are in support of continued funding towards the programme, while Republicans say a deal cannot be made while government services remain closed.
