Scuffles between protesters and police broke out in the streets of New York City, leading to several arrests on Wednesday evening, a day after the US presidential election to demand all votes are counted.
On Tuesday Americans took to the polling stations to choose between the incumbent president Donald Trump and his Democratic rival, former Vice-President Joe Biden.
Speaking on Tuesday night as early vote counts showed a tight race, Trump called the election results a «fraud» and said he would go to the US Supreme Court over them. Biden called these calls «outrageous» and said his legal team was on standby to prevent this.
With ballots still being counted in the key states of Nevada, Pennsylvania, Georgia and North Carolina on Wednesday evening, Biden said, «We believe we will be the winners» when all votes are counted.
