USA: Sanders calls for 'courage' ahead of crucial Michigan primary

US Senator and Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders held a rally at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor on Sunday, ahead of the crucial Tuesday primary. «Change never takes place from the top on down, always from the bottom on up. That's the history of the labour movement in America,» said Sanders in front of the crowds. The Vermont senator criticised the wages and salaries... Еще system and slammed the economy «in which the top one per cent owns more wealth than the bottom 92 per cent,» adding: «we are capable of making swiping change if we have the courage to do it.» The future of Sanders's political campaign heavily depends on Michigan, which has 125 delegates that are vital to reduce the gap between him and current Democratic frontrunner, former Vice President Joe Biden. According to current US presidential primary election results, Biden secured the support of 664 delegates with Sanders coming second with 573 delegates. To win the Democratic nomination, a successful candidate needs to secure the support of 1,991 delegates.
