Hundreds of protesters rallied outside the Brooklyn home of Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer in New York City, Friday, where they staged an anti-war protest following Friday's airstrike in Baghdad that killed Iranian General Qasem Soleimani.
Protesters could be seen shouting «No war with Iran,» as they urged the Democratic leader to oppose any efforts by Democrats or Republicans to send... Еще additional troops to the Middle East.
Following the US drone attack on Friday, Schumer said that US President Donald Trump had failed to alert top leaders in the House and Senate ahead of the strike, which increased tensions in the region.
Friday's rally, which was organised by several Anti-War groups around New York City, drew around 600 people in front of Schumer's property.
General Qasem Soleimani was killed in an airstrike at Baghdad's international airport in the early hours of Friday morning, alongside Jamal Jafaar Mohammed Ali Ebrahimi, the leader of Iraq's Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF).
