Dozens of protesters gathered in Raleigh, North Carolina on Monday to denounce ongoing COVID-19 restrictions restrictions in the state. The called on politicians to recognise the extent of economic damage caused by the pandemic.
«We need to get back to work. What we have done in 'flattening this curve' as they like to call it is flatten the economy. And a lot of these businesses are never going to come back,» said on protester.
«This fight is not over even if we reopen the whole country. Even if every single door of every business is reopened. This fight is not over. Too many people have suffered. Too many people have died. Needless, senseless deaths,» said another protester at the rally.
North Carolina has partially reopened after months of lockdown, but certain businesses including bars and fitness facilities remain closed.
