White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders will leave her position at the end of the month, as announced by US President Donald Trump and herself during an event at the White House on Thursday.
Trump praised Sanders and said that «she's done an incredible job, we've been through a lot together and she's tough, but she's good.»
He also hinted at Sanders running for governor in Arkansas, the... Еще state she is originally from and in which her father, Mike Huckabee, served as a governor for 11 years.
«If we can get her to run for governor of Arkansas, I think she'd do very well. I'm trying to get her to do that,» said Trump.
Sarah Sanders appeared emotional as she praised the US President: «This has been the honour of a lifetime, the opportunity of a lifetime. I couldn't be prouder to have had the opportunity to serve my country and particularly to work for this president.»
She added that she will «spend a little more time» with her children, while continuing to be «one of the most outspoken and loyal supporters of the president and his agenda.»
No successor has been announced yet.
