USA: Police deploy tear gas as protesters topple fence around Portland courthouse

Dozens of protesters were filmed tearing down a steel fence around the Multnomah County Justice Center in Portland, Oregon, in protest of police brutality and racism, on Sunday night, as police declared the protests as riots and began dispersing crowds with tear gas. US Marshals Service and other law enforcement officers dressed in camouflage were seen dispersing activists at the scene. On Friday, Federal agents used tear gas and fired less-lethal ammunition at protesters in Portland, with Oregon Governor Kate Brown severely condemning the actions of the federal government. She slammed the move as a 'blatant abuse of power,' with the state's justice department announcing that it would be suing to halt the practice on Friday evening.
