USA: Perjury charge against Charlottesville 'Unite the Right' rally organiser dropped

The Albemarle County Court dismissed the perjury charge against organiser of the 'Unite the Right' rally Jason Kessler in a court hearing in Charlottesville, Virginia, on Tuesday. Kessler was charged with one count felony perjury for allegedly making false claims in his criminal complaint that he filed in January 2017, where he accused a man he punched named Justin Taylor of hitting him first... Еще. «It's a relief, you know. I just want to point out that I am not the only one who is being wrongfully accused to try and stop us from revealing the truth about how the city of Charlottesville sabotaged the Unite the Right rally,» Kessler commented on the court decision. The incident in question took place last year at Downtown Mall of Charlottesville when Kessler was collecting signatures on a petition to remove a member of the Charlottesville City Council from office. Prosecution presented a surveillance video that claims that Kessler lied about the assault.
