A vigil for Oakland resident Erik Salgado who was fatally shot by California Highway Patrol (CHP) turned into a rally on Monday.
Protesters held banners and signs at the Oakland intersection where the 23-year-old was shot.
Salgado and his girlfriend, who is pregnant, were both shot at the intersection during what CHP has described as a criminal investigation.
«I would like to know why they shot him, what was the reason they had to take such brutal action. He didn't deserve to die,» said Salgado's cousin attending the rally.
