USA: NYC bombing suspect charged with terrorism

New York City bombing suspect Akayed Ullah, 27, was charged with «five counts of federal crimes» including use of weapons of mass destruction, in New York on Tuesday. Acting United States Attorney For Southern District of New York Joon Kim, stated that Ullah was charged with providing material support to a terrorist organisation; using a weapon of mass destruction; bombing a place of public use... Kim said Ullah would have a hospital court proceeding later Tuesday or Wednesday, with Special Agent in Charge of Counterterrorism Division Bill Sweeney asserting that the investigation “is ongoing.” Akayed Ullah, from Bangladesh was detained over Monday’s failed bombing of a passageway by Times Square. No one was injured in the attack apart from the suspect himself.
