USA: 'No justice, no peace' — thousands take to DC streets in anti-racism demo

Nearly two weeks after the killing of George Floyd, protests continued in full force in Washington, DC on Saturday as thousands gathered on the newly-minted «Black Lives Matter Plaza» to fight against racism. Protesters of all ages waved signs and chanted now-familiar slogans like «No justice, no peace» as they marched towards the White House, now shielded behind a security barrier. The protests mark the twelfth day of unrest that has included violence and looting all across the United States, though demonstrations appeared largely peaceful. Earlier in the week, police dispersed protesters near the White House with tear gas before President Donald Trump posed for a photograph in front of a church holding a bible.
