USA: Night made day as Kilauea glows through clouds *TIMELAPSE*

An extraordinary timelapse sequence of the Kilauea volcanic eruption on Hawaii's Big Island was recorded by the Gemini North Observatory recorded on Tuesday night. The sequence shows a giant flashlight illuminating the night skies, with light beams resulting from lava-spewing fissures as the volcano continues to erupt. The Kilauea volcano erupted on May 3 and there is no indication yet as to... Еще when it might end. It is one of the most active volcanoes in the world and has been erupting continuously for more than 30 years, but not explosively. MANDATORY CREDIT: credit: Gemini Observatory/AURA/NSF
