Over a thousand supporters of Donald Trump gathered for the 'New York Triumph Rally' in Staten Island on Saturday. The event was organized by the Staten Island Republican Party and advertised as, «the largest pro-Trump, pro-Republican» rally in the New York City area.
Masks were not required at the rally for President Trump situated between a closed movie theater and a pizza restaurant on Staten Island even after the president was diagnosed with COVID-19 earlier this week.
Speakers at the event included President of the New York City Police Benevolent Association Pat Lynch, Republican Party Chairman Brendan Lantry, Assemblywoman and Congressional candidate Nicole Malliotakis as well as Staten Island's own Trump-themed artist Scott LoBaido.
«Right now, in New York City, there are two types of people representing us in congress. They're either socialist democrats or they're like my opponent, cowardly democrats who won't stand up to them and fight back,» roared Nicole Malliotakis to a cheering crowd.
Trump's supporters chanted for four more years of his Presidency while waving flags and wearing Trump memorabilia. The crowd also called for Democratic New York City mayor Bill de Blasio to resign.
