Extra mobile morgues and medical tents were set up in El Paso, Texas, due to rising COVID-19 numbers, as filmed on Thursday.
Hospitals were becoming overwhelmed as El Paso developed into one of the country's hotspots.
«We are seeing a large increase in the number of COVID patients. We had to increase our bed capacity approximately almost one hundred percent just to be able to take care of our patients at this point,» said Joel Hendryx, the Chief Medical Officer of University Medical Center.
More than 1,400 state personnel were deployed to assist hospitals in El Paso while many non-COVID patients were sent to other hospitals in Texas to relieve the capacity of the county's medical centres.
