Filipino boxer and senator Manny Pacquiao did a media workout surrounded by fans and journalists in Los Angeles on Wednesday ahead of his hotly-anticipated fight against undefeated and former unified welterweight world champion US boxer Keith Thurman.
Talking to journalists after his training, Pacquiao (61-7-2, 39 KOs) said that he chose Thurman (29-0, 22KOs) because «he likes to fight toe to toe... Еще and he loves action». The 40-year-old explained how he prepared to fight a boxer ten years younger than him, saying that «I have to work hard and to move fast like when I was young, like in early 20s».
Asked about Thurman's comments that he plans to retire, Pacquiao, the only eight-division world champion in the history of boxing, said that «this is not the first time to hear that but I think it's very hard to prove in the ring».
The fight between Pacman and 'One Time' Thurman, nicknamed earned for his knockout power, will take place in Las Vegas on July 20.
