USA: Long queues at drive-through mask giveaway in Connecticut

Cars formed long queues at a volunteer-run drive-through face mask giveaway in Torrington, Connecticut aimed at helping curb the spread of COVID-19 in the area on Tuesday. «I think they are appreciative that there are masks here,» said Connecticut state representative Michelle Cook, adding «And that they have the opportunity to get in line and get what some of the things that they need to be able... Еще to feel comfortable, as we start rolling out the opening of the state on the 20th of this month.» The drive-through which was set up in collaboration with the Jewish Federation of Greater New Haven, and saw volunteers giving out plastic bags containing 5 disposable face masks on a first come first serve basis, in order to help residents protect themselves as the state looks to loosen up confinement measures at the end of the month. With over one million reported cases the US is the worst COVID-19 struck-country in the world and has registered 81,076 COVID-19 related deaths according to data gathered by John Hopkins University as of Tuesday.
