The impeachment trial of US President Donald Trump is set to move on to two days of questioning after oral arguments from both sides of the case wrapped up on Tuesday in Washington DC.
According to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell the questions will «alternate between the majority and minority sides for up to eight hours during that session of the Senate.»
McConnell also stated that... Еще questions will have to be present to US Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts, who is presiding over the impeachment trial, in writing.
Roberts reminded senators of the five minute reply rule instituted during the impeachment trial of former President Bill Clinton and requested that it be observed this time as well.
Trump is facing impeachment over charges of abuse of power as well as obstruction of Congress, but with a Republican majority in the Senate and a super-majority required for a conviction, the president looks set to remain in office.
