Hundreds of protesters rallied in Port Jefferson, New York, on Monday to show support for police forces in the wake of widespread demonstrations against police brutality.
Protesters were seen waving US flags and signs reading «Blue lives matter.»
Suffolk County Republican Party chairman, John Jay LaValle, said that «everyone here today [is] standing up to support the brave men and women in blue,» as he was addressing the crowd.
Some demonstrators were standing on the side of a road, waving at cars who honked back in support.
'Blue lives matter' protests are in reaction to Black Lives Matter rallies taking places across the US since weeks, following the killing of 46-year old George Floyd at the hands of a white police officer.
