Hundreds of protesters gathered at Sproul Plaza in US Berkeley to demonstrate against an informal press conference organised by right-wing commentator Milo Yiannopoulos. A handful stood to hear what the controversial figure had to say. Media was not permitted inside the barricaded premises. After only 15 minutes, Yiannopoulos was escorted to his car, whilst protesters exchanged verbal insults... Еще with Yiannopoulos supporters near the premises. «We're just continuing to uphold the legacy of free speech at Berkeley and freedom of expression regardless of what your political or ideological views are,» said one protester. Yiannopoulos went ahead with the press conference despite the previously organised right-wing 'Free Speech Week' on UC Berkeley campus being called off at the last minute.
