Hundreds of mourners attended the Fountain of Praise Church in Houston on Monday to pay tribute to belated George Floyd at a public viewing of his casket.
The public farewell ceremony counted with the presence of Floyd's friends and supporters, as well as celebrities and politicians. Rapper Trae The Truth, congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, Attorney Lee Merritt, Incumbent chief of police of the Houston Police Department Art Acevedo and Governor Greg Abbott were seen among the guests of the ceremony.
George Floyd was killed during an arrest in Minneapolis on May 25, after police officer Derek Chauvin knelt on Floyd's neck for almost nine minutes.
The violent killing sparked a wave of protests against racism and police brutality worldwide.
