USA: Hundreds join BLM protest in Washington DC

Hundreds gathered for a Black Lives Matter rally and march in Washington DC on Saturday, calling for an end to police brutality and racism. Protesters were seen marching and chanting through the city, in addition to listening to various speakers. Demonstrators carried signs reading, «Rebel against oppression and the US police state,» and «we are the generation of change.» On Wednesday, July 22, US President Donald Trump announced a surge of federal law enforcement into cities run by Democrats, including Chicago, as part of his «law and order» campaign that follows a growing number of gun-related attacks in the city. Massive anti-police brutality and anti-racism protests have been taking place all across the US and abroad since the death of George Floyd at the hands of police in Minneapolis on May 25.
