USA: Houston convention centre houses 9,000 people following Hurricane Harvey

Еще emergency shelter following the displacement of many locals due to Hurricane Harvey. One local evacuee named Nicole told her story: «We've been away for like 48 hours 36 hours. We really got caught in it since Sunday and we had to swim three miles just to get to a freeway» she said, adding that it was proving difficult to get accommodation at the emergency shelter. Around 9,000 people are being sheltered at the convention centre, which remains fully functional despite the flooding experienced in the area.
