Kazakhstani professional boxer and former unified middleweight world champion Gennady Golovkin and Canadian middleweight professional boxer Steve Rolls held a final press conference in New York on Wednesday ahead of their Saturday's fight.
Golovkin, known as 'GGG' is looking to reclaim the title he lost last September.
«I respect my opponent. You know, Steve Rolls is undefeated. This is... Еще serious business, it's a very dangerous sport, I believe he is ready for Saturday night, because this is exactly like real life, like a real fight. It's coming again, like last show and right now, we have a new show», said Golovkin.
His coach Jonathon Banks also said that Golovkin's opponent shouldn't be underestimated. «He literally has nothing to lose and has the mecca of boxing which is going to be watching him in Madison Square Garden. He's got a world to gain. So, there's nothing about Rolls that has been overlooked, there is nothing about him that has been underestimated», said Banks.
Steve Rolls will be hoping to continue his winning streak — so far no one managed to beat him — and improve his positions in the middleweight division. «I'm more than ready to take on this huge task and opportunity presented in front of me. As I said many times, this is a tune-up fight and on June, 8 I look forward to solidify myself as one of the best in the division. I'm going to keep it short and sweet, and I will see everybody Saturday night», said Rolls.
