USA: Flight controls used by Neil Armstrong in Apollo 11 Moon mission up for auction

The flight controls used by astronauts Neil Armstrong, Michael Collins and Buzz Aldrin, used during their historic Apollo 11 to the Moon are going up for auction, where they are expected to fetch between €70,000 ($80,000) and €175,000 ($200,000) each. «People really like to collect items from space especially something so famous, so iconic as the control sticks used by such famous people as Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin,» said Mark Nolan, Executive Director at Julien's Auction, in Beverly Hills, California, on Tuesday. The memorabilia will officially hit the auction on July 17 at Julien's Auctions of Beverly Hills as part of its Legends & Explorers auction. Among other eye-catching items are some of the equipment of the spacecraft of Apollo 11 mission, Steve Martin's iconic three-piece white suit as well as the spacesuit featured in Stanley Kubrick's film '2001: A Space Odyssey.'
