At least three activists of the Extinction Rebellion climate change group were arrested after climbing on to the Columbus Circle globe sculpture, New York City, Monday. A banner demanding climate justice was seen placed on the globe.
The activist was seen pouring paint on the sculpture before being arrested along the two others.
Dozens of other XR activists were seen marching through the city, blocking streets while chanting and holding banners, reading 'Another world is possible' and 'Power together.'
In Central Park, another activist performed a 'grieving ceremony' spilling fake blood on the ground.
