Around 100 people rallied at the US District Court in White Plains on Tuesday, to protest the separation of migrant families and the detention of two men by the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
The rally was organised by the 'Hudson Valley Community Coalition' in reaction to the deaths of two children that were placed under US custody when their families sought asylum at the... Еще southern border.
The families of two local men who remain in US custody also attended the rally. Both Manuel Armando Arpi and Manuel Zhinin were picked up by ICE outside their homes in nearby Peekskill last year and are currently being held 1,600km (1,000 miles) away in Alabama.
«I'm here tonight in support of families who have been detained and separated, I come from a family who immigrated here and has prospered,» said Barbara Ojeda, an attendee at the rally.
